With versus On

Because it is easy to interchange prepositions and think they convey the same meaning, I wish to explain my conscious choice to use "with" instead of "on".

This experiment is not about poverty, lack, or penny-pinching.
This experiment is not about cutting back the budget or even cutting spending.

This experiment is about living with less. Plain and simple.

What does that mean?
  • Fewer items in my home. Not just clutter, but possessions.
  • Smaller portions of food. Not dieting or starvation, but proper portioning.
  • Less unrealistic spending of time, energy, space, and money.
  • Mindful living in all respects.
  • And things I cannot yet forsee. I can only imagine what I will discover.

Therefore, while I expect myself to confuse "on" with "with" in the future, I state for the record that I'm learning to live WITH less so I can enjoy life more.
